It’s always a risk betting on new video game hardware from a little-known company: what if game developers never show up? But the $50 Thumby Color, on sale this week, is an easier sell — the two-inch handheld is cute as a button, fits on your keychain, and lets aspiring programmers build and publish games right on the web, and I’m finding it so much easier to play than the tinier $30 original! Here’s my video comparing the two and showing off playable takes on Tetris, Connect 4, Minesweeper, Doom, Bust-A-Move, 2048, and more, as well as a cool 3D-printed watch…
LeapFrog has announced a new electronic learning system that swaps controllers for a camera. In fact, the LeapMove looks like an oversized, kid-friendly webcam, but is designed to connect to TVs like a console and get kids off the couch using educational games that require full-body movements to play. It’s reminiscent of the Xbox Kinect or the PlayStation 2’s EyeToy, but simpler and much cheaper than competitors’ products like the $249 Nex Playground. The LeapMove will be available through retailers including Target, Walmart, and Amazon for $69.99, and comes with 25 motion-based games designed for kids aged 4 to 7. Agentic AI tools are being hired into businesses faster than we can fathom. They’re already helping shape workflows, influencing decisions, and generally assisting with the day-to-day running of a business. But without the right training, oversight, and integration, they risk becoming more of a liability to a business than a competitive advantage.Unlike generative AI tools, agentic AI tools are designed to act independently, by identifying tasks, making decisions, and taking actions without direct instruction. They’re built to think and act, not just respond: becoming actors in the workplace, participating in workflows, integrating across functions, and shaping outcomes.Mike AndersonSocial Links NavigationChief…

Tabletop gaming has always relied on the sale of physical items like books and miniatures, so that the companies that support these games can stay in business. This summer has seen some pretty catchy needle drops in movies, from Superman‘s Mighty Crabjoys to KPop Demon Hunters flash mob fandoms for Huntr/x and the Saja Boys. The latter Netflix release has reached not only Billboard music charts but also become the most streamed animated feature ever. With that in mind, we look back at our favorite fake bands’ best songs of the past 30 years. While half the list includes incredible recent music from hit movies, the other half (and our number one slot) nod at the songs that really propelled this particular niche in movies—think A Goofy Movie.…
