In 2005, Verizon had the best wireless network in the U.S.The T-Mobile of 2005 had absolutely no resemblance to the T-Mobile of today. Led by the EDGE platform, dubbed…

Even Space Race salaries were far cheaper The Apollo program offers another striking comparison. Neil Armstrong, the first human to walk on the moon, earned about $27,000 annually—roughly $244,639 in today’s money. His crewmates Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins made even less, earning the equivalent of $168,737 and $155,373, respectively, in today’s dollars. Current NASA astronauts earn between $104,898 and $161,141 per year. Meta’s AI researcher will make more in three days than Armstrong made in a year for taking “one giant leap for mankind.” The engineers who designed the rockets and mission control systems for the Apollo program also…

A federal jury in Florida has found Tesla to be partly liable for a fatal car crash that occurred in 2019 involving its self-driving feature Autopilot. Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company must now pay $243 million in damages as a result of the judgment, multiple reports Friday said.Prosecutors filed charges back in 2022 alleging that the driver didn’t brake in time when approaching a T-intersection while driving his Tesla Model S with Autopilot active, and as a result killed two passengers in the car he collided with.A Tesla spokesperson told TechCrunch Friday that the verdict is “wrong” and will “set…

CRV has secured $750 million toward the 55-year-old venture firm’s twentieth flagship fund, it announced on Friday. The new fund is smaller than the $1 billion early-stage fund CRV closed in the fall of 2022. At that time, the firm also announced a $500 million second Select fund, a capital pool for backing late-stage rounds of existing portfolio companies. It’s no surprise that CRV is not raising a late-stage fund as part of its new fundraise. Last year, the firm told The New York Times it was returning $275 million from its $500 million Select fund to investors. The firm…
