Samsung raised US list prices across the Galaxy S26 line on October 1, roughly seven months after the phones went on sale, with the 1TB Ultra jumping $200. South Korea got the same increase on the same day. Nothing about the hardware changed, and the widely reported Galaxy S27 price leak turns out to describe today’s numbers rather than next year’s.
Leaker Ice Universe says the Galaxy S27 Ultra will ship with three rear cameras instead of four, with the 3x telephoto being the one that goes. Run the numbers on light gathering and depth of field and the cut looks far more defensible than the spec sheet suggests. The part worth worrying about is the camera Samsung is keeping.
A leak of the full Galaxy S27 memory and storage lineup shows every model matching its Galaxy S26 equivalent, with the 128GB tier removed entirely. The cause is the memory shortage driven by AI data centers, which now absorb an estimated 70 percent of global output. The one genuine upgrade is LPDDR6 and UFS 5.1, and it may be limited to the top tiers.
Samsung Display’s M16 OLED reaches 10,000 nits in a 1 percent window and 2,800 nits full screen. The headline number is the least interesting part. The second generation polarizer-free structure underneath it cuts panel power draw by up to 30 percent, and that is the change you will actually feel.
