Amazon’s next Prime Day sales event begins on Oct. 7. It continues until Oct. 8, and although there’s plenty of time before the big day next week, we’ve already started to see the retailer roll out significant discounts in the lead-up to Prime Day. One of the best deals right now is on a Samsung monitor. Right now, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G93SC Curved Gaming Monitor is on sale for $880, a massive 45% discount. That is the lowest year-to-date price ever for the display.

Samsung’s Odyssey G93SC is no ordinary display. Spanning a massive 49 inches, this QD-OLED monitor produces breathtaking visuals with vibrant colors and deep blacks. Its steep 1800R curve wraps around your field of review, pulling you directly into the action. Resolution sits at 5,129 x 1,440 pixels (Dual Quad HD), equivalent to having two QHD monitors side by side.

Not only is that extra width handy for gaming, but it’s also useful for multitasking and productivity. Picture-by-Picture helps with this since you can place two visual outputs side-by-side. There’s also Picture-in-Picture mode. This puts a small sub-screen in the corner of the larger view.

What’s really neat about Samsung’s display is that it comes with multiple safeguards. First, the Thermal Modulation System utilizes “algorithms” to predict the display’s surface temperature and automatically lower the brightness to keep things cool. Then you have the Logo and taskbar Detection feature. It allows the screen to reduce the brightness on static images to prevent burn-in. Finally, Screen Saver sees the Odyssey S39SC automatically dim after 10 minutes of inactivity.

Other notable features for the Odyssey G93SC include a 240Hz refresh rate for smooth on-screen animations and support for both G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro, ensuring fluid gameplay without screen tearing or stuttering.

    How I rated this deal

As per ZDNET’s rating system, I grant this deal a 5/5 editor’s deal rating. To repeat what I said earlier, this is the lowest price for Samsung’s Odyssey S93SC. It’s never been this good before. I highly recommend taking advantage of this deal today before it goes away. Sure, you could wait until Black Friday for a potentially lower price, but good luck with that. Black Friday is very chaotic. It’s better to buy now.

Deals are subject to sell out or expire at any time, though ZDNET remains committed to finding, sharing, and updating the best product deals for you to score the best savings. It’s unknown if or when the deal on the Samsung Odyssey S39SC OLED Curved Gaming Monitor will end.

Our team of experts regularly checks in on the deals we share to ensure they are still live and obtainable. We’re sorry if you’ve missed out on this deal, but don’t fret — we’re constantly finding new chances to score savings and sharing them with you at ZDNET.com.
