A soundbar or speaker system is a great way to enhance your TV’s integrated audio so you never miss a note of your favorite songs or a line of dialogue in movies, shows, and games. And right now at Amazon, you can get the high-end LG S95TR home audio system for almost 50% off, bringing the price down to just $860.

ZDNET editor Artie Beaty tested this soundbar system, and wrote in his review, “The wireless setup is easier than any audio system I’ve encountered, and the S95TR performed better than any system I’ve heard before, point-blank.”

Also: How I upgraded my soundbar audio quality for free

An almost perfect complement to premium OLED TVs, the LG S95TR features 9.1.5CH audio, as well as support for both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for 3D spatial sound that follows the on-screen action. It also uses an integrated sensor that automatically monitors the room’s ambient sound and adjusts volume and other settings for a custom experience. With both Bluetooth and HDMI connectivity, you can create a fully wireless setup or take advantage of the 4K pass-through with VRR and ALLM support for gaming and streaming.

    Review: LG S95TR sound bar

The sound system supports voice controls via Alexa or Google Assistant for hands-free use as well as both AirPlay and Chromecast for sharing audio from your iOS or Android devices. Support for LG’s WOW Orchestra feature allows you to sync your S95TR and LG TV speakers for a truly cinematic experience, while the WOW interface lets you control all of your LG devices with a single remote. The LG S95TR also utilizes a smart up-mix mode to convert 2-channel audio into a virtual multi-channel experience, so even retro games and old Hollywood classics sound their best.

    How I rated this deal

A high-end sound system will usually cost you a pretty penny, so being able to get a premium setup like the LG S95TR for almost half off is a very tempting deal. You’ll get 9.1.5CH audio with support for both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X as well as a 4K HDMI passthrough that supports Dolby Vision HDR and VRR for a better viewing experience. And with a host of smart features, you’ll be able to create the ultimate home theater, even if you don’t pair this system with an LG-branded TV. That’s why I gave this deal a 5/5 Editor’s rating.
