The first full reviews of Oppo’s Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max went live on October 21, and they read like a victory lap. TechRadar gave both phones a perfect score for their cameras and displays. GSMArena called the Pro Max “an Ultra in all but name” and put its battery life at the top of its chart. Digital Camera World said it has “the most spectacular cameras on a phone.”
Then you get to the battery section, and a small sentence repeats itself across almost every review. TechRadar: “my review unit came with the larger 8,000mAh cell.” The other TechRadar reviewer: “I have the 8,000mAh version of the Find X10 Pro Max, despite living in the UK.” GSMArena: “we received the global 8,000 mAh version of the phone.”
That matters because if you buy either phone in Europe, you do not get 8,000mAh. You get 7,150mAh. The headline battery verdicts you are reading were measured on hardware that European shoppers cannot buy in a store. Here is what that difference is worth, what else the reviews found, and which of the two phones actually makes sense.
Two batteries, one phone name
Oppo sells both Find X10 models in two battery versions. Asia-Pacific, Australia, the Middle East and other global markets get an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon cell. Europe gets 7,150mAh. GSMArena attributes the split to restrictions on cell capacity for air transport.
What makes this year awkward is the comparison with last year’s phone. The Find X9 Pro shipped with 7,500mAh in every market, Europe included. So outside Europe, the new phones are an upgrade. Inside Europe, they are a step backwards.
What the reviews actually measured
Battery verdicts in the first reviews are excellent, and it is worth being precise about what they describe.
- TechRadar, Find X10: tested the 8,000mAh unit. “Almost impossible to kill” in a day, a day and a half to two days per charge, and a full 5 out of 5 for battery.
- TechRadar, Find X10 Pro Max: tested the 8,000mAh unit in the UK. At least a day and a half per charge, two days achievable. Scored 4 out of 5, with the reviewer specifically calling the EU downgrade “a shame.”
- GSMArena, Find X10 Pro Max: tested the global 8,000mAh unit. Active Use Score of 25:24h, at the top of its battery chart, and better than the Vivo X300 Ultra.
Nobody has published a standardized test of a 7,150mAh retail unit yet. So we did the simplest honest thing possible: scaled GSMArena’s result by capacity.
Even with that haircut, roughly 22 to 23 hours would still be an excellent result for a big-screen flagship, comfortably ahead of what most Samsung, Google and Apple phones deliver. So this is not a disaster for European buyers. It just means the “two days on a charge” comments in reviews are closer to “a long day and a half” on the phone you will actually get. If you want to see what a really oversized battery feels like in daily use, we spent time with Vivo’s 10,000mAh mid-ranger, which shows the trade-off on the charging side too.
Measured endurance → 25h 24m = 25.4 hours
Scaled → 25.4 × 0.894 = 22.7 hours, about 22h 42m
Difference → roughly 2h 40m less per full charge
Charging got slower, and Europe loses the charger
Both phones support 80W SuperVOOC wired charging and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging. With a generic USB Power Delivery charger, the Pro Max tops out around 55W. TechRadar’s Find X10 took about 1 hour 15 minutes from empty to full. GSMArena’s Pro Max needed 1 hour 10 minutes and noted that it charges more slowly than the Find X9 Pro, trailing even the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Pixel 11 Pro XL at the 15 and 30 minute marks.
There is a second European catch. GSMArena reports that in Europe the Pro Max ships without a charger in the box. Its global review unit came with the 80W brick. If you buy in the EU and want full speed, budget for Oppo’s own charger.
The cameras earn the hype
On photography there is no fine print. Every review we read puts the Pro Max among the best camera phones of 2026.
The headline is three 200MP rear cameras, each on a large sensor. TechRadar’s Luke Baker said the point is not the megapixels but the consistency: “you can use any lens in any situation without compromising quality.” All three shoot up to 8K at 30fps or 4K at 120fps, and all three support Log, open gate capture and Dolby Vision. GSMArena singled out the ultra-wide and low light video as best in class. The only phone TechRadar ranked above it for stills is Oppo’s own Find X9 Ultra, which still wins on long zoom.
The cheaper Find X10 is not far behind. It has two 200MP cameras, the main and a 2.8x periscope, plus a 50MP ultra-wide. TechRadar gave it a 5 out of 5 for cameras too, and noted that Oppo has toned down its heavy processing this year. Its telephoto can crop to a lossless 12MP image at about 12x zoom.
One thing both phones lost is the Quick Button, Oppo’s copy of Apple’s Camera Control. TechRadar’s reviewers miss it. Most buyers probably will not.

Earlier spec sheets for the base Find X10 often listed a Dimensity 9500. That was a database error, and we explained where it came from when we covered the Find X10’s global launch specs and pricing. Retail units use the Dimensity 9600M.
How TechRadar scored them, side by side
| Category | Find X10 | Find X10 Pro Max |
|---|---|---|
| Value | 3 / 5 | 3 / 5 |
| Design | 4 / 5 | 4 / 5 |
| Display | 5 / 5 | 5 / 5 |
| Cameras | 5 / 5 | 5 / 5 |
| Performance | 4 / 5 | 4 / 5 |
| Software | 3 / 5 | 4 / 5 |
| Battery | 5 / 5 | 4 / 5 |
Different reviewers, different tastes, so do not read too much into a single point. But the pattern is clear. On the things most people care about, screen, cameras and battery, the £1,099 phone scores the same as or better than the £1,499 one.
The complaints worth knowing before you buy
- Price. Every outlet flagged it. The Find X10 costs what last year’s Find X9 Pro did, and the Pro Max is £400 more than that. GSMArena said the Pro Max is “certainly not the most sensible purchase from a value perspective.”
- Bloatware. TechRadar found Temu, ChatGPT, BIGO LIVE and Booking.com preinstalled on the Find X10 and called it “fundamentally unacceptable” on a £1,099 phone. You can uninstall them.
- Less RAM than last year. Both phones ship with 12GB in Europe, down from 16GB on the Find X9 Pro. Reviewers blame the memory shortage and say they never felt it in use.
- Throttling. GSMArena saw CPU and GPU performance fall to around 50 to 60% of peak in its sustained thermal tests. TechRadar ran demanding games at 60fps without trouble, so this matters most for long gaming sessions.
- Design is very Apple. TechRadar called the Find X10 “the most iPhone-like Oppo phone yet.” Whether that is a problem is up to you.
What about buyers in the US?
Neither phone is sold in the US, and Oppo has given no sign that will change. Enthusiasts who import usually buy the global version, which carries the 8,000mAh battery, so ironically an imported phone may outlast one bought in Paris or Berlin. The usual import caveats apply: check 5G band support with your carrier, expect no local warranty, and know that features like VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling can be patchy on unofficial devices. Oppo’s bigger push right now is Europe, where it wants to become the third premium phone brand next to Apple and Samsung, which makes the smaller European battery an awkward detail.
- Check the battery line on the box or spec sheet. EU retail units list 7,150mAh. Review praise is mostly based on 8,000mAh units.
- Use the launch bundle. In the UK, Oppo is offering £100 off the Pro Max plus a free accessory worth up to £500, including the Hasselblad Teleconverter kit, the Oppo Watch X3 or the Oppo Pad 5. Buying the Find X10 direct includes the teleconverter or the watch.
- Budget for a charger. European Pro Max boxes reportedly ship without one, and 80W needs Oppo’s own brick.
- Delete the preinstalled apps on day one. It takes two minutes and makes ColorOS 17 far nicer to live with.
Which one should you buy?
For most people, the Find X10. It costs £400 less, it is slightly smaller and lighter, its main and telephoto cameras are both 200MP, and the reviewer who tested it gave it top marks for display, cameras and battery. If you are in Europe, the 7,150mAh cell still gives it more capacity than anything Apple, Samsung or Google sells.
The Pro Max makes sense if you shoot a lot of video or ultra-wide photos. Its 200MP ultra-wide on a much larger sensor is the single biggest hardware difference, and every lens shooting 8K with Log makes it a genuine creator tool. You also get 512GB, a bigger screen and a professionally calibrated display. If you care about extreme zoom, though, Oppo’s own Find X9 Ultra, now around €1,500 according to GSMArena, still beats it at long range.
FAQ
Is the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max worth buying?
Reviewers say yes if you want one of the best camera phones available, especially for video and ultra-wide shots. The main drawback is the price of £1,499 in the UK and €1,799 in Europe.
Why does the European Find X10 have a smaller battery?
Oppo ships a 7,150mAh cell to Europe instead of the 8,000mAh cell used elsewhere. GSMArena attributes this to cell capacity restrictions for air transport.
How much worse is the 7,150mAh battery?
It has 10.6% less capacity. Scaling GSMArena’s 25:24h result suggests about 22h 42m for the European Pro Max, still among the best results for a flagship phone.
What is the difference between the Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max?
The Pro Max adds a 200MP ultra-wide camera, a slightly larger main sensor, a 3x telephoto, a 6.78-inch calibrated display, the Dimensity 9600 Pro and 512GB of storage. Battery and charging are the same.
Can I buy the Oppo Find X10 in the US?
Not officially. You can import the global version, which has the 8,000mAh battery, but check band support with your carrier and expect no US warranty.
