Apple has enabled Hypertension Notifications on Apple Watch in Canada and Singapore starting October 8 [appleinsider.com#1][macobserver.com#1]. The feature works on Apple Watch Series 9 or later and Ultra 2 or later, and is not available on any Apple Watch SE models [macrumors.com#1][appleinsider.com#1][mobilesyrup.com#1]. Using the optical heart sensor, it passively analyzes data over 30 days to flag consistent signs of potential hypertension, but it does not measure blood pressure directly or provide a reading [macrumors.com#1].

    Highlights:

    • Simple setup: Users can enable Hypertension Notifications in the Health app on a paired iPhone, and the algorithm runs in the background without calibration [appleinsider.com#1][macrumors.com#1].
    • Global rollout: The capability launched last month in the U.S. and more than 150 other countries and territories; Canada is the newest addition at publication [macrumors.com#1][appleinsider.com#1].
    • More regions: Alongside Canada and Singapore, Apple says the feature is also available in Bahrain starting today [macrumors.com#1].
    • Eligibility limits: Apple says the notifications are not intended for people under 22, those already diagnosed with hypertension, or during pregnancy [macrumors.com#1].
    • OS and models: Supported devices must run watchOS 26 and include Apple Watch Series 9/10/11 and Ultra 2/3; SE models are excluded [macrumors.com#1][appleinsider.com#1][mobilesyrup.com#1].

    Perspectives:

    • Apple (via reporting): The feature underwent rigorous scientific validation and is not intended for certain populations, including people under 22 and those already diagnosed with hypertension. (MacRumors)
    • The Mac Observer: The expansion to Canada and Singapore follows regulatory clearance in both countries. (The Mac Observer)
