Hisense has grown from a budget brand into one of the most interesting TV makers in the US, and its 2026 lineup is built around two technologies: MiniLED backlights across the midrange and new RGB MiniLED sets at the top. The best Hisense TV for most people in October 2026 is the U7, while the UR8 and UR9 are the picks if you want the brand’s newest color technology. Here is how the whole lineup fits together and which model suits your room and budget.

Quick answer: Buy the Hisense U7 (U7SG with Google TV or U7SF with Fire TV) for the best balance of brightness, gaming features and price. Step up to the UR8 or UR9 RGB MiniLED models for richer color, or save with the U6SF Pro and U6SF if you mainly stream shows and sports.

All of these are 4K sets. Hisense names the RGB models with an R, and 2026 model codes end in SG for Google TV or SF for Fire TV, as in U7SG and U7SF.

    Best overall: Hisense U7

The U7 replaced the old U8 as the top of Hisense’s mainstream range in 2026, and it is the model most buyers should start with. It pairs a MiniLED backlight with full array local dimming and quantum dot color, which gives it the brightness to handle sunny rooms and punchy HDR. The native 165Hz panel and four HDMI 2.1 inputs make it a strong gaming TV for PS5, Xbox and PC, and the built in 2.1.2 speaker system with Dolby Atmos is better than most TV audio.

Hisense sells it in two versions: the U7SG runs Google TV and the U7SF runs Amazon’s Fire TV, so you can match the TV to the streaming system you already use. Sizes go all the way up to 116 inches. The U7 launched in March 2026 at a starting price of $1,299, and fall sales have pushed many sizes well below launch pricing.

Best picture: Hisense UR9 and UR8

RGB MiniLED is the big Hisense story of 2026. Instead of white or blue LEDs behind a color filter, these TVs use tiny red, green and blue LEDs that can be controlled zone by zone, which allows more saturated color and more precise brightness. The UR9 is the flagship you can actually buy at normal TV prices. It uses up to nearly 35,000 RGB LEDs, the Hi View AI Engine RGB processor, a 180Hz panel with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Google TV with Gemini built in. It went on sale in the US in May 2026 in 65, 75, 85 and 100 inch sizes, and in early October 2026 the 65 inch model was listed at $1,699.99 at Best Buy. Hisense also announced Dolby Vision 2 support for the UR9 through a software update.

The UR8 brings the same RGB idea to a lower price. It uses a 120Hz panel, supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10+, has four HDMI 2.1 inputs and comes in sizes from 55 to 100 inches. Its 65 inch model carries a list price of $1,799.99 but has been widely discounted this fall, which makes it a tempting alternative to the U7 for movie fans.

Tip: Hisense prices move a lot. The same TV can swing by hundreds of dollars between retailers and sale events, so set a price alert and buy during big shopping weekends rather than at launch price.

Best value: Hisense U6SF Pro and U6SF

The U6 series brings MiniLED to more affordable prices and runs Fire TV with Alexa voice control. The U6SF Pro is the one to get for sports and casual gaming thanks to its native 144Hz panel, variable refresh rate and support for Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive. The standard U6SF is the entry point to Hisense MiniLED and comes in a wider range of sizes. Both include an integrated subwoofer with Dolby Atmos.

If your budget is tighter still, Hisense’s 2025 QD6 and QD7 QLED Fire TVs are still on sale at many retailers, often at steep discounts. For a TV that doubles as wall art, the Hisense CanvasTV is the brand’s answer to frame style designs.

The ultra big option: Hisense 116UX

For buyers with a dedicated home theater and a huge budget, the 116 inch 116UX was Hisense’s first RGB MiniLED TV in the US. It launched in September 2025 at $29,999, and its price has been cut several times since. It is a showpiece rather than a sensible buy, but it shows where the UR9 and UR8 technology came from.

Watch out: Hisense sells different model codes in different countries, and some regions get VIDAA instead of Google TV or Fire TV. Check that the full model number, such as 65U7SG or 65UR8SG, matches the US version before buying from a marketplace seller.

    FAQ

Is Hisense a good TV brand?

Yes. Hisense offers some of the brightest TVs for the money, and its MiniLED and RGB MiniLED models compete with far more expensive sets from bigger brands.

Which is better, Hisense U7 or UR8?

The U7 has a faster 165Hz panel and is the better gaming value. The UR8 uses RGB MiniLED for richer color and is the better choice if movies are your priority.

Should I get Google TV or Fire TV?

Pick the system you already use. Google TV suits Android and Google Home users, while Fire TV makes sense if you live in the Amazon and Alexa ecosystem.

    When are Hisense TVs cheapest?

Prices typically drop during fall sales, around Black Friday and in late winter, when retailers clear stock ahead of new models.

    The verdict

The Hisense U7 is the best Hisense TV for most people in 2026, with excellent brightness, a 165Hz panel and your choice of Google TV or Fire TV. Choose the UR9 or UR8 if color accuracy and the latest RGB MiniLED technology matter most, and the U6SF Pro if you want MiniLED at the lowest price.
