BYD is preparing to launch a new plug-in hybrid SUV called the Fang Cheng Bao Ti7, with its official debut expected by the end of 2025. Although the model hasn’t been released yet, early images have surfaced online, offering a first look at its design and key features.

Leaked by Sugar Design on the Chinese platform Weibo, the photos reveal both the interior and exterior of the upcoming vehicle. The Ti7 sports a bold, squared-off design with a flat roof, multi-spoke wheels, and what appears to be a retractable rear door. A distinctive two-tier rear light setup and a roof-mounted LiDAR system suggest that BYD is aiming to integrate advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies. These details are consistent with recent filings at China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), further confirming the design direction.

With a length of 4.99 meters, width of 1.99 meters, height of 1.86 meters, and a wheelbase of 2.92 meters, the Ti7 is positioned as a full-size SUV. Despite its large footprint, it will feature a standard two-row seating configuration. Inside, a prominent touchscreen display dominates the dashboard, aligning with the brand’s emphasis on digital interiors.

Under the hood, the Ti7 uses BYD’s new DMS hybrid platform. It pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 154 horsepower with electric motors. The dual-motor version combines a 215 hp motor at the front and a 268 hp motor at the rear. A single-motor variant delivering 268 hp will also be available. This setup will be offered in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options.

The SUV is powered by a 26.6 kWh battery, enabling around 105 kilometers of electric-only range. A higher-tier version is expected to stretch that figure to approximately 130 kilometers. Fuel efficiency is estimated at 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers.

While BYD has not confirmed if the Ti7 will be offered outside of China, including in the U.S. market, the model reflects the company’s growing push into the premium hybrid SUV space. Its combination of size, technology, and electrified performance makes it a noteworthy contender in the expanding global EV and hybrid segments.
