Garmin Cirqa Smart Band Pro Leak: Two Buttons, a Speaker and What We Still Don’t Know

Garmin’s first screenless band is barely three months old, and the app code already hints at a bigger sibling. Strings inside recent Garmin Connect builds mention a “CIRQA Smart Band Pro,” and the small details in them say a lot about what Garmin thinks the original is missing. Nothing is official yet, so this is a story about evidence: what the code actually shows, what the paperwork might show, and what is still guesswork.

    Short answer

Garmin Connect versions 5.28.1 and 5.29 contain separate text for a CIRQA Smart Band Pro. The strings point to two physical buttons and some kind of speaker. Garmin has not confirmed the device, a price or a date. Smartwatch Insight estimates $249 to $299 and a launch in late 2026 or early 2027, but that is an estimate, not a leak.

What the Garmin Connect Code Actually Says

The find started with Gadgets & Wearables, which spotted the new name in the Garmin Connect app. Notebookcheck then checked the same app package on its own and reported matching references, published on September 11. Two separate teardowns landing on the same strings makes a misread unlikely.

The most useful clue is a help line for alarms. One string reads, “You can set alarms on your CIRQA Smart Band Pro in the Garmin Connect app.” The text around it describes pressing “either button” to snooze an alarm and holding “either button” to stop it. That wording only makes sense if the device has more than one button, and the current Cirqa has just one.

Other strings mention changing volume and hearing stats read out loud, which points to a speaker or at least some audio output. Reports also describe a split between an Activity button and a Controls button, though Garmin has not said what the second one would do. The Pro also has its own entry, separate from the regular Cirqa, so it is not a typo or a leftover.

Garmin Cirqa timeline from first slip to Pro leak Timeline: January website slip, July 24 launch, August 13 Cirqa Smart Ring certificate, September 10 Pro code and Indonesian filing, October analysis with no Garmin confirmation. The Cirqa story so far January Garmin posts the Cirqa on its site, then deletes it July 24 Cirqa launches at $199 Aug 13 Cirqa Smart Ring appears in a certification database Sept 10 Pro strings found in the app, Indonesian filing appears Today No word from Garmin yet Dates from TechRadar, Notebookcheck and Smartwatch Insight reporting. Spacing is not to scale.

Best Smartwatch for AFib in 2026: What the Evidence Says

On September 10, the same day the app strings surfaced, a certificate showed up in Indonesia’s SDPPI database. It was filed by PT Garmin Indonesia Distribution under number 126302/DJID/2026 and lists a “Fitness Product” with model number A05293. Garmin keeps a regular pipeline of certificates in that system, and a Cirqa Smart Ring certificate reportedly turned up there in August.

The catch is that regulators almost never print real product names. A05293 could be the Pro, or it could be another unannounced Garmin device that happened to be filed the same day. The matching date is suggestive, nothing more. Until a better filing arrives, treat this as a coincidence worth watching.

App code leaks from Garmin have a good record, but the company has not commented on this one. Anything beyond “two buttons and audio” is inference. Sensors, price and release timing in particular are guesses from outside sources.

Rumored Pro Features, Sorted by How Likely They Are

Other Cirqa-family rumors have been floating around, and it is easy to pile them all onto the Pro. To keep things honest, here is how much weight each one deserves, based on what has actually been reported.

How strong the evidence is for each rumored Cirqa Pro feature Horizontal bars of our confidence: second button strongest, speaker likely, Indonesian filing being the Pro uncertain, emotional stress sensing, ECG and muscle fatigue tracking weakest. Evidence strength for each rumored detail Second physical button Strong Speaker or audio output Likely Indonesian filing is the Pro Unconfirmed Emotional stress sensing Family rumor ECG on a newer sensor Guess Muscle fatigue tracking Guess

Bar length is our own judgment of the reporting so far, not a Garmin figure.

    Emotional stress tracking

Smartwatch Insight reports that Garmin’s registration paperwork in the US, Canada and the UK describes the Cirqa family measuring emotional stress separately from physical stress, using skin conductance instead of heart rate alone. None of those filings name the Pro, so this could just as easily be a feature of the current band or a different model.

    Muscle fatigue and ECG

Garmin trademarked “Muscle Battery” before it registered the Cirqa name, and the Connect app reportedly already has room to store that kind of reading. Whether it lands on the Pro is a guess, and one report notes that a wrist sensor is badly placed to read a working muscle. ECG is the other wish-list item. The current band has none, and a newer sensor generation would be the logical way to add it, but nothing in the leaked code says so.

Why Buttons and a Speaker Make Sense

The biggest complaint about any screenless band is that you cannot interact with it. There is no display to glance at and almost nothing to press. Add a second button and a speaker, and you get a way to start activities, silence alarms and hear a number without pulling out your phone. It reads less like a flashy upgrade and more like a patch for the category’s most common gripe.

The timing is also not as odd as it looks. Garmin has a habit of stacking a step above a base model rather than replacing it, as it has done with Fenix, Instinct and Forerunner. There is also pressure from outside. Smartwatch Insight points to Bloomberg reporting that Apple is working on its own screenless band, and Google’s Fitbit line keeps pushing downward on price. If you want to see how Google is attacking from the cheap end, our look at the Fitbit Edge launch and the Health Guardian update for Fitbit Air covers it.

Should You Wait or Buy the Current Cirqa?

There is no reason to think the Pro replaces the standard band, so the original is not going away. If you already live in Garmin Connect and want recovery and sleep data now, the $199 model still makes sense, especially because core features are free. Our Garmin Cirqa review roundup breaks down how it compares with Whoop 5.0, Fitbit Air and the Oura Ring 5.

If you care about alarms and a bit of interaction, waiting a few months is a fair call. A smart alarm is a big part of why many people buy a band in the first place, and a second button plus audio would help there. Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 Score 4/10 in iFixit’s Teardown, While Pixel Watch 5 Gets a 9

    • New Garmin Connect builds. Sensor names or setup screens would be a much stronger signal than tutorial text.
    • An FCC filing. These usually carry more hardware detail than a certificate from Indonesia.
    • Product photos. Regulatory databases have briefly shown images of unannounced Garmin gear before.
    • Official Garmin teasers. The company has accidentally posted Cirqa pages on its own site before.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Has Garmin confirmed the Cirqa Smart Band Pro?

No. The evidence is app code in Garmin Connect 5.28.1 and 5.29, plus an unconfirmed regulatory filing in Indonesia.

How many buttons will it have?

Two, according to the alarm help text that mentions “either button.” The current Cirqa has one.

    Will it have a speaker?

Probably some form of audio output, since strings mention volume and spoken stats. The exact hardware is not specified.

How much will the Cirqa Pro cost?

No price exists yet. Smartwatch Insight guesses $249 to $299 based on the original’s $199 price and the extra hardware.

    Bottom Line

The solid part of this leak is small but telling: two buttons and a speaker, aimed at the one thing screenless bands do worst. Everything else, from ECG to emotional stress sensing to a price, is still rumor. Garmin’s app leaks tend to age well, so it is reasonable to expect a Pro eventually. Just do not bank on specific features until Garmin or a better filing says so.
