Epson has introduced the Pro Cinema LS9000, its most affordable entry in the Pro Cinema projector series, targeting home theater enthusiasts and gamers. Debuting at the Audio Advice Live event in Raleigh, North Carolina (August 1–3, 2025), the LS9000 is priced at $3,999, offering a lower-cost alternative to the higher-end LS12000 model ($5,999). Despite its reduced cost, the LS9000 retains many premium features, positioning it as a strong value in Epson’s lineup.

The LS9000 is a 4K 3LCD laser projector with support for HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG formats, ensuring enhanced image quality for movies and games. It uses a long-lasting laser light source rated for 20,000 hours. While its brightness level of 2,200 lumens (white and color, ISO/IDMS rated) is less than the LS12000’s 2,700 lumens, it is well-suited for traditional dark-room home theater settings.

One of the key highlights of the LS9000 is its gaming capabilities. It features two HDMI 2.1 ports that support 4K resolution at 120Hz, making it compatible with next-generation gaming consoles and PCs. Additional features include support for eARC and ARC for advanced audio passthrough, and Epson’s ZX Picture Processor, which handles real-time frame interpolation and image enhancement.

The projector also includes a motorized lens system with powered zoom, focus, and lens shift (±96% vertical, ±24% horizontal), offering flexible installation options. A powered lens cover automatically closes when the projector is turned off, and memory zoom settings allow easy adjustment for ultra-wide 2.35:1 screens. Compatibility with third-party anamorphic lenses further expands its versatility for cinema-style setups.

The LS9000 offers a contrast ratio of over 2.5 million to one, aided by a two-speed Dynamic Contrast adjustment, contributing to sharp 4K image reproduction with deep blacks and bright highlights. Compared to Epson’s Q-Series projectors—high-brightness models aimed at open media rooms—the LS9000 is optimized for dedicated home theater environments.
