August has arrived, and although it unfortunately means we’re already halfway through summer, the good news is that it’s once again time to claim your free Kindle e-books for the month as an Amazon Prime member.

If you’re not aware, Amazon provides Prime members with free Kindle e-books every month via its First Reads program. Each month on the first, Amazon refreshes its First Reads collection with a carefully selected range of new Kindle e-books across different genres. As a Prime member, you are eligible to claim one free Kindle e-book from this collection, along with a free bonus short read.

Once you claim your free Kindle e-books, they are yours to keep forever. If you’re looking to expand your library every month, Amazon’s First Reads program is an easy way to do so. If you don’t have Amazon Prime, it costs $15 monthly or $139 annually. You may even have a free trial available to use. To claim your free Kindle e-books as an Amazon Prime member, you can check out Amazon’s First Reads program below.

An Amazon Prime subscription gives users access to fast, free shipping, Prime Video, Amazon Music, a free Kindle e-book every month, and more.

This month’s bonus short read is Bad Date: A Short Story

For August, Amazon’s First Reads program is offering eight different Kindle e-books to choose from. There are several genres available, so hopefully, there’s something that catches your interest. This month, some of the genres include historical fiction, romance, and psychological thriller.

While eight Kindle e-books are available, remember that you can only select one for free, so choose wisely. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member, you can still browse the First Reads collection. However, instead of the selected book being free, you’ll have to pay $2 for it, which isn’t a bad deal at all.

Here is a list of all the First Reads titles Amazon is offering this month:

    • Please Don’t Lie (Genre: Psychological Thriller)
    • The First Witch of Boston: A Novel (Genre: Historical Fiction)
    • You’ll Find It All Still Here: A Novel (Genre: Women’s Fiction)
    • Kingdom of Tomorrow (Genre: Romantasy)
    • What Happened to Lucy Vale: A Novel (Genre: Coming of Age Suspense)
    • Both Things Are True: A Novel (Genre: Women’s Fiction)
    • Cold Island: A Novel (Genre: Police Procedural)
    • Under a Greek Sky (Genre: Romance)

Additionally, this month’s free bonus short read is Bad Date: A Short Story by Ellery Lloyd, a New York Times bestselling author, which tells a “twisty short story about love, obsession, and deadly deceptions.”

If you don’t have Amazon Prime, besides being able to get a free Kindle e-book every month through First Reads, there are several other benefits, including fast and free shipping on a wide range of products, as well as access to Prime Video. If you haven’t tried it before, I recommend a free trial. If you don’t like it, you can always easily cancel it.

You have all of August to claim this month’s free Kindle e-books. Come September, new books will become available, and you’ll be able to get another free Kindle e-book as an Amazon Prime member.
