Along with your TV and computer, a mini-fridge can be the center of a college dorm. But not all mini-fridges are created equal — and they’re even better when you can get them for free. Right now at LG, when you buy an eligible full-size French door refrigerator while it’s on sale, you can get a complimentary single-door mini-fridge (a $515 value). That’s right — an extra place to store your favorite drinks and snacks for free.

Of course, this deal will only be a lucky draw for those looking to purchase a standard refrigerator, but it’s undoubtedly a fun offer to surface during this back-to-school season. Or perhaps, it would be a great addition to your home office or garage. So if that’s you, keep reading on.

While likely a bit big for a typical dorm room, this LG mini-fridge is an excellent supplement to a full-size, shared refrigerator popular in college apartments. You can keep it in your bedroom or another shared space to store extra drinks, snacks, groceries, or medicines. It even has a drawer for fresh produce to help it keep longer. The stainless steel finish gives the mini-fridge a sleek, modern look that will fit into just about any space, while the semi-automatic defrost function makes cleaning out a breeze.

To be eligible for this offer, you (or perhaps a parent) must purchase a qualifying full-size french door model from LG, including counter and standard-depth designs like the 30 cu.ft. Smart Max 4-door or the 29 cu.ft. Smart InstaView Door-in-Door. Each qualifying full-size LG refrigerator is also available at a discount of $700 to $1,500 off, letting you save big on a quality appliance for your kitchen remodel or refresh. And if you just want to pick up the 6 cu.ft. mini-fridge, you can save $136, bringing the price down to just $379; that’s a steal for a high-quality appliance.

You’ll also have to ensure you’ve added your full-size and the 6 cu.ft. mini-fridge to your cart, as the product pages for the full-sized models don’t have an option for quickly adding them as you go. Once you’ve added both to your cart, the LG website will automatically apply the discount so you can get your free mini-fridge. LG is offering this BOGO deal until August 20, so hurry up.

    How I rated this deal

A free mini-fridge is a pretty sweet deal, but it’s an even better value when you can also get a full-size, premium refrigerator on sale. With discounts ranging from $700 to $1,500 on full-size models, it’s easy to save big on your kitchen remodel or refresh while also getting a quality mini-fridge for your garage, office, or college apartment. That’s why I gave this deal a 5/5 Editor’s rating.

LG is offering this BOGO refrigerator deal until August 20.

LG requires that you purchase the full-size and mini-fridge together in the same transaction to qualify for the discount, and is running the offer through August. 20. LG will also void the promotional savings if you cancel or return part of your order, which means that you’ll be on the hook for the full price of the mini-fridge. You may also be on the hook for shipping costs, depending on which part of the US you live in; and if you live outside the contiguous 48 states, use a P.O. box or have an Army Post Office (APO), Diplomatic Post office (DPO), or Fleet Post Office (FPO) address, LG won’t be able to deliver your refrigerators.
